Sergei Israelovich Hovsepian was born on March 31, 1947 in Yerevan. In 1965 he entered the Yerevan Fine Arts and Theatre Institute, which he graduated in 1970. He is a member of the Union of Artists since 1974 and a Laureate of the USSR Lenin Komsomol award. Since 1972, he participates in national and international exhibitions. His works have been exhibited in Germany, France, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Russia (in particular in Moscow and Leningrad), as well as in Finland, Cuba, Greece, USA and other countries. Paintings of Sergei Hovsepian are presented in famous museums, such as the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Yerevan, the Gallery Ludwig in Cologne, the National Gallery of Armenia in Yerevan, as well as in private collections in USA, Greece, Israel, France, etc.
